There's nothing quite like walking into a field of blooming lavender, clippers in hand, ready to gather your own bouquet. Our U-Cut is one of our favorite ways to share the farm with you, and if you've never done it before, here's everything you need to know before you visit.

When U-Cut Is Open

U-Cut runs Monday through Saturday, 10am to 4pm, during lavender blooming season — usually end of July through August. Bloom timing depends on the weather each year, so we recommend coming earlier in the season if you want the best variety and the freshest flowers to choose from. 

U-Cut is offered while supplies last. We'll keep you posted on bloom conditions and field availability through Instagram and our newsletter, so it's worth checking before you make the drive out.

How U-Cut Works

Step 1: Start at the farm store. We'll check you in, hand you a pair of clippers (no need to bring your own), and walk you through a quick tutorial if it's your first time cutting.

Step 2: Grab a container and head into the fields. Pick up a container for gathering your lavender, then stroll through the rows to find your favorite blooms. Take your time — this is the fun part.

Step 3: Harvest with care. When you're ready to cut, trim a couple inches above the woody part of the plant. Cutting into the woody base can damage the plant and hold back future growth, so if you're ever unsure where to cut, just ask. We're always happy to show you.

Step 4: Bring your bouquet back to the shop. Once you're finished, we'll size and price what you've cut. You only pay for what you take home.

Step 5: Enjoy your fresh-cut lavender. The experience doesn't end when you leave the field. Take your bouquet home to enjoy the fragrance, dry it for lasting bundles, or gift it to someone who could use a little lavender in their day.

Tips for a Good Visit

• Wear a hat and sunscreen — the fields get sunny and there's not much shade.
• Bring water and plan to stay a while.
• Bring a camera. The fields are in full bloom and make for some of our favorite photos of the season.
• Make a day of it: pack a picnic and enjoy the view while you're out here.
