Botanical Dye Workshop
Botanical Dye Workshop at Tumalo Lavender
This botanical dye workshop in Oregon is a chance to slow down, get your hands into something creative, and leave with something genuinely beautiful. Join Lauren of Vive Textiles for a beginner-friendly morning on the farm exploring the art of natural dyeing using flowers, leaves, and other botanicals — including lavender buds grown right here at Tumalo Lavender.
In this hands-on session, you'll learn the fundamentals of working with natural dyes:
- How mordanting works and why it matters
- How different flowers and botanicals produce their own unique colors and prints
- How to create a bundled print design
- How steam finishing sets your work
Using a curated selection of dried homegrown dye flowers and farm-grown lavender buds, you'll create your own one-of-a-kind silk scarf through a bundled printing process. No two scarves come out the same — that's the nature of botanical dyeing.
No experience needed. All materials are included. You'll leave with a finished silk scarf that's entirely your own and a new appreciation for what grows in a field.
This botanical dye workshop is limited to 15 guests and requires a minimum of 6 to run, so early registration is encouraged.
Date: Saturday, July 18 Time: 10:00–11:30 AM Investment: $60 per person Capacity: 6–15 guests
